Gene Logsdon offers an alternative to the decline of the family farm by explaining how to successfully engage in what he calls "cottage farming" part-time for enjoyment as well as profit. . This is not a dry, "how-to" book; it's a really great read even if you haven't a clue about (or any interest in) farmingThe illustrated exercises were easy to follow with specific applications for each exercise. One filled with witty jibes from Ollie (who is now one of my all time favorite characters), occasional "f**kfests" (Between two consenting men, not an orgy. Many such Minders, as they are called, live among us and The Agency, a clandestine government organization that Kir escaped from a year ago, is determined to capture or kill them all.Josh McKay is an ex-marine freelancer contracted to bring in Kir. These stories are too well conceived, cliché-free, and too varied to be mere fictions. Otherwise I am intrigued with the French Onion soup recipe calling for Vidalia onions, that are not know where I live, and coconut milk instead of butter. Josh's fate is equally disturbing as he later falls prey to a vengeful Brad, a powerful Minder, who turned him into his "Zombie" and forced to submit sexually and nearly losing his mind in the process. i wish it had been better i still am looking for the fence answers. It's not a necessary prerequisite but it would enhance your appreciation of Carr's arguments.Carr's central thesis can be summed up in a quote often attributed to Marshall McLuhan, "we shape our tools, and thereafter our tools shape us."Carr's point
