This book crackles with his wonderful mMost of the reproductions lack luster and most of them are too small. The text is good also, but the quality and format of this book is great for studying Bruegel.. She's entitled to her point of view and I, mine. This book reads like a badly-written doctoral thesis hurriedly turned into a book. The reproductions are very well done and the tonal studies in the back of the book are master courses on human form, anatomical structure, body movement and emotional impact.I highly recommend this collection of reproductions and must say the price is insignificant compared to the wealth of art inside. OMG! The photos are stunning! Very interesting and informative articles as well.. It focuses on every aspect of his ouvre, from portraits, landscapes, genre, and figurative studies. Singer's drawings are worth the price alone. This is very refreshing to see, as the drawings bring us right into the studio with Sargent, almost looking over his shoulder while he renders the figure with unwavering power and finesse.. Well, I wrote a review of this book a couple of weeks ago, just after I started it. To make matters worst, probably a third to half of the images are in black and white.
