I say the author because he states Allied troops said this, but lo and behold, it's the only unsourced statement in the whole book. After rescuing an adorable dog, Neil (the handsome stranger), getting introduced to the local vet, and then the ex showing up, this charming cast of characters bring such quirk to an amazing story. While most scholarly discussions of The Souls of Black Folk focus on the veils, the color line, double consciousness, or Booker T. Shaw adopts Du Bois' point of view to delve into the social, cultural, political, and intellectual milieus that helped to create The Souls of Black Folk.. Washington, Shaw reads Du Bois' book as a profoundly nuanced interpretation of the souls of black Americans at the turn of the twenti
